What personal data we collect and why we collect it
In open areas of the site we collect first names and email addresses to help identify and prevent spam comments.
On contact forms we ask for your name, email address and role to help us respond to your inquiry.
We do not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collect the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users in the training area of the site.
We collect names from comments to identify responses to course tasks within password protected areas.
Comments on the main part of the site are currently closed while we update this policy.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Image upload is only possible in the password protected areas of the site. Visitors to the website who have a valid password can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Any images you have uploaded will be added to the Display Images Archive unless you request their removal. The Archive is only available to current course participants.
Any images which include identifiable minors will be deleted forthwith.
If you leave a message via a contact form we keep contact form submissions indefinitely for customer service purposes. General questions are responded to by email but your data is not passed to any other parties. We only use the information submitted through them commercially to contact you by email if have specifically asked about booking a course.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Analytics are not enabled on this site.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (in some password protected areas), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you take a course with us your comments, images and data are kept indefinitely for customer service purposes. After your course your comments and any replies will not be visible to new course participants.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data
No sensitive data is held about you apart from your name and email address. Your data is never passed to third parties or used for marketing purposes.
Any financial data is held by PayPal and is not passed on.
Your data is stored on this site in a password protected area and on an encrypted, password protected spreadsheet on password protected computer.

We will contact you by email in the unlikely event of a data breach.
What third parties we receive data from
We receive data from Paypal when you pay for a course. This will include your name, email address, the date of payment and the amount you have paid.

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we will never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 18.
All minors mentioned or referred to in password protected areas must be anonymised. No identifiable images of children may be uploaded to the site.
